BASIC ONE STEP SPARRING

 

Defense against a single right hand punch attack

Listed below are some techniques you may use them or preferably creat your own. Please remember that where ever a punch is indicated that you may if you desire substitute another weapon such as knifehand strike, vertical punch, Hammerfist strike etc., etc.. You have at least 19 weapons from the tip of your fingers to your elbow.  Same for blocks. 

 

1)     Step back with right foot to form left front stance

       Left block

       Right punch

 

2)     Step forward with left foot to form left front stance

       Left block

       Right punch

 

3)     Step back with right foot to form left front stance

       Left block

       Right punch

       Left punch

 

4)     Step forward with left foot to form left front stance

       Left block

       Right punch

       Left punch

 

5)     Step back with right foot to form left front stance

       Left block

       Right front snap kick set, foot down to rear

       Right punch

 

6)     Step forward with left foot to form left front stance

       Left block

       Right front snap kick or knee kick, set foot down to rear

       Right punch

 

7)     Step left to form left front stance at 45 degree angle

       Right block

       Left punch

       Right punch

 

8)     Step right to form right front stance at 45 degree angle

       Left block

       Right punch

       Left punch

 

9)     Step left to form left front stance at 45 degree angle

       Right block

       Right round house kick

       Left punch

 

10)  Step right to form right front stance at 45 degree angle    

       Left block

       Right punch

       Right kick

       Left punch

 

11)   Step left to form left front stance at 45 degree angle

       Right block

       Right reverse kick

       Left punch 

 

12)   Step right to form right front stance at 45 degree angle

       Left block

       Left reverse kick

       Right punch

 

13)   Step forward into left front stance

       Left block

       Right groin grab

       Left hammer fist strike to groin with right groin rip

 

14)   Step forward into left front stance

       Left block

       Right punch to groin

       Right backfist to face as you pivot into right front stance,                chamber right fist at head level

       Right punch

 

15)   Pivot 180 degrees lean away from attack

       Right or left reverse kick

 

16)   Step left to form left front stance at 45 degree angle

       Right hook block trapping attackers arm

       Pivot into right front stance

       Left forearm strike

 

17)   Step back with right foot to form horse stance

       Left inner wrist block

       Left step behind side thrust kick

 

18)   Step forward into left front stance

       Left block

       Right knee kick

       Set right foot down to form left horse stance

       Left downward elbow strike to back of attackers neck

 

19)   Step forward with right foot to form right horse stance

       Double forearm block

       Right reinforced elbow strike to attackers midsection

       Pivot right 180 degrees to form left horse stance

       Left uppercut punch

       Right punch       

 

20)   Step forward with left foot to form left front stance

       Left block

       Right punch

       Left punch

       Shift weight to form right front stance

       Double punch, high / low (Yama zuki)

 

21)   Step forward with right foot crescent kick block

       Set kicking foot down to form horse stance

       Step behind side thrust kick with right foot

 

22)   Step forward with right foot crescent kick block

       Chamber right foot for side thrust kick ( do not set foot down )

       Side thrust kick

 

23)   Step forward with left foot to form left front stance

       Grap attackers arm with left hand

       Right foot roundhouse kick to head

 

24)   Step forward with right foot to form horse stance

       Double forearm block

       Right elbow to head

       Step back with right foot to form left front stance

       Left punch

       Right front snap kick

 

25)   Step forward with left foot to form left front stance

       Left block

       Right palm heel strike to head

       Right punch to groin

       Grab attackers hair grab with both hands

       Pull head down right knee kick
